Is Lyft Going Fragrance-Free?!

We know how challenging it can be for the chemically sensitive to use ride-sharing services, such as Uber or Lyft, due to the heavy fragrance exposure from most cars. Often, they’re polluted with fragrance from scented trees hanging on the mirror or air fresheners attached to the vent. But it may no longer be necessary to ask the driver to put their scented product in the glove compartment while opening the window. In a surprising move, Lyft, sent out notifications to drivers towards the end of 2025 encouraging them to offer fragrance-free rides! It’s significant that a large company is taking note of the increasing demand for fragrance-free options & one of the first to do so. While this isn’t a guarantee that every ride will be fragrance-free since there appears to be no firm regulations in place to enforce this yet, it’s exciting news that the tide is starting to turn. It proves that when enough of us speak out, companies start listening. We applaud Lyft for being a pioneer and hope they will implement a fragrance-free option on the app where riders can filter their car choices, to go even further in promoting safe air spaces. Thank you to The Rideshare Guy on YouTube for bringing this news to light. Now let’s get Uber on board as well!
