TAKE ACTION

It’s going to take all of us to create the change we’ve been waiting for. Every action you take adds up overtime, no matter how big or small.

Help make shopping safer!

Collaborate With Us

If you’ve successfully encouraged a business, school, workplace, government facility, or other organization to remove fragrances from their environment, we’d love to hear how you did it.

If you have resources or ideas for creating a fragrance-free future, we’d love to see them too.

And if you’ve been personally affected by fragrances and would like to share your story to help raise awareness, please reach out to us.

Educate

  • Hand out flyers in your area (listed on the Resources page).
  • Start a school club to raise awareness (email info@fragrancefreealliance.org so we can support you here).
  • Talk to family & friends that are open to listening.
  • Post on your social media page to raise awareness.
  • Advertise on commercials, billboards, social media ads, etc.
  • Host educational events in your local community such as the public library.

ADVOCATE

  • Contact businesses that use fragrances in their buildings (call, email, write letters, speak with store managers, etc.)
  • Call, email, &/or mail a letter to your city council members, mayor, state representatives, state senators, governor, & federal elected officials in Congress to educate them on the dangers of synthetic fragrances & ask for a ban in public spaces.
  • Attend a town hall your local, state, & federal elected officials host & voice your ideas there (bring scientific studies to provide evidence of the need for a ban).
  • Find out when your state representatives & state senators will be at the state capitol & meet them in person to educate on the dangers while asking for a ban in public spaces (bring scientific studies to provide evidence of the need for a ban).
  • Call, email, &/or mail a letter to your school board members to educate them on the dangers of synthetic fragrances & ask for a ban in schools (bring scientific studies to provide evidence of the need for a ban).
  • Attend school board meetings & voice your ideas when they open it up for public comment (bring scientific studies to provide evidence of the need for a ban).
  • See if any toxicologists, researchers, or medical professionals are in your area that would be willing to join you at the town halls, school board meetings, &/or days at the state capitol.
  • Find others in your area that feel passionate about this cause & team up with them.

Our current campaign – winter 2025

Help make shopping safer!

Speak with your grocery store manager today to move the holiday scented pine cones/brooms to the outside of the store!

Currently we are encouraging people to speak with their grocery store manager to move the scented pine cones/brooms on the inside of the store to the outside. Let them know you enjoy shopping at their store & may no longer be able to do so since you are chemically sensitive to the fragrance coming off the scented pine cones/brooms. Ask if it’s possible for them to move these items to the outside of the store. No one should have to expose themselves to these toxic chemicals when grocery shopping & they shouldn’t be contaminating our food.

If you have success here, please share your story with us so it can encourage others to do the same.
